Brown Crab Handling and Quality Guide

A Handling and Quality Guide for Irish Brown Crab was produced by Bord Iascaigh Mhara / Irish Sea Fisheries Board in October 2011. The aim of the guide is to provide practical and contemporary guidelines on the handling and quality of brown crab, at all stages, from capture to the first point of sale.

Training

Training to new entrants is also provided by Bord Iascaigh Mhara / Irish Sea Fisheries Board through accredited courses. As well as highlighting the skills required to work safely onboard, courses also emphasize conservation technology, environmental awareness and fish quality.
